Hello, and thanks for visiting my site, my name is Mike Herrera. As you may have concluded from my writings I am a very avid entrepreneur. I grew up a very modest and humble life in a small town most people have never heard of called Poteet Texas. My upbringing you could say left a lot to be desired. Having used hand me down clothing, shoes, toys and living with very little is really what drove me towards improving my life. This is where at an early age the road to Entrepreneurship began.
A lot can be dedicated to my parents, although we had continually struggled through my up-bringing there were lots of good ethics instilled in me for which I am grateful for. Perseverance, integrity, emotional strength, a strong work ethic to mention a few. I have also had some troubled years in my adolescence all of which contributed to who I am today and in some ways made me stronger in that It made me grow up fast and lose my naivety.
I always have been and will continue to be a very driven individual. I tend to go against the grain in life and force myself to take risks when I feel there is something valuable to be learned. I always try to learn from my mistakes and more importantly from the mistakes of others. As for my credentials, you may say I am lacking in that my formal education is not yet completed. Although I am close to completing my Bachelors degree in Business, its currently still in the works. However I do not measure myself only in terms of what degree's I hold.
Secondary education is an important step and should be pursued not always for what you learn but because it helps your ability to learn. However, I do not consider education alone a true measure of someones intelligence, wisdom and abilities when it comes to Entrepreneurship. I have self taught myself on various subjects ranging from Real Estate, Business Startup, Investing and Options Trading, how to build this website and more. Some of my recent undertakings had me doing consulting, training and implementing a new Logistics System and network built from scratch for our Military forces in Afghanistan. Its no easy feat, but taking on something this challenging, in a war zone and on such a large scale has earned me experience I could not have gotten anywhere else. Every problem encountered is compounded by the work environment so it forced me to come up with creative and interesting ways to solve problems and ultimately provide a new capability for our Military. Other ventures include getting starting in Realestate and residential income properties, continuing development on this blog and mentoring others in their own personal entrepreneurial indevours. With out a doubt I will say there is much more you can learn about Entrepreneurship in the real world than from conventional learning environments. The trick is just knowing what things you should be teaching yourself and paying attention to as you go through life! I have read hundreds of books as well, and have followed up with what I learned by taking action and jumped out in the world made mistakes and got my hands dirty in attempts to start businesses. Some, you could say were failures, some did relatively ok some were successful to certain degree. However that is only in monetary perspective, the experience I have gained I feel was the most valuable take away from those activities early on. I have yet to establish a highly successful company, however I can tell you several ways how not to start one. I can also tell what I have changed about myself to better attain the goals I have in life. I would also like to share the mindset that has allowed me to get where I am today in life with zero debt, a great income, a comfortable life with the goals and the know how to get me where I want to be in life since the age of 25. Thank you for letting me share valuable information and an excellent perspective on the frame of mind needed to preserver in our new ever changing and dynamic world. I know my strengths and happy to share them with those who would like to learn them. I want to help others open their eyes and see the many Opportunities available to all of us when we look in the right direction and with the right state of mind. I am extremely passionate at helping others discover what I have during my short time as an Entrepreneur. I intend to share what I have learned with you and just as importantly show you how to use what I’ve learned. .
As they say give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, show them how to fish and they will eat for a lifetime. I don’t want to show you how to start businesses, there are millions of sites that for the most part give you a step by step guide which is great. However what I also want to share with you is the state of mind needed to find a business you can be successful at and how to stay in the game until you realize your goal and to expand upon it and make a fulfilling life. I always believe no matter your intelligence level if you have passion and drive you can overcome most obstacles in life. I would always choose a well driven individual with a passion for what he/she does as a partner over someone who may hold several degree's but does not have the passion and drive any life worth living requires. Currently I spend most of my days scouring the internet, reading new books and getting out and taking action, taking risks and making mistakes to better help you build a true asset just as I am currently.
You only live once, take risks, lose the fear and provide value to others and you will leave a lasting legacy letting your spirit live forever!
